Dr. Pradheep Rachakonda  is an eminent and skilful medical professional with specialisation in the field of Cardiothoracic surgery. He has  a long and rich clinical experience of more than one and half decade during which he has performed numerous complex cardiothoracic surgeries in Adult and Pediatric age group, Redo heart operations, Surgery on the coronary artery and valves, ECMO support and minimally invasive cardiac surgeries are some of his expertise. He is among  the few surgeons who can perform Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) etc. He is also proficient in  Septal Myectomy for HOCM, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (Off-pump and On Pump), Mitral valve repair and Replacement, Aortic valve surgeries like Valve and Root replacement.

• First rank in the All India Postgraduate Superspecialty Entrance examination in June 2007 for admission into Cardiothoracic surgery residency. 
• 23rd rank in All India Entrance Examination 2004 for admission to Post graduate courses conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in March 2004. 
• National level Third Prize in the 13th All India Essay Contest on Nuclear Science and Technology held at BARC, Mumbai, October 30, 2001. 
• First Prize and Gold Medal winner in the ENT Head and Neck Surgery Medal examination in December 2000 by the Association of Otorhinolaryngologists, Coimbatore. 
• Divisional round of the 14th Indian Academy of Pediatrics Quiz at Madurai Medical College Hospital in September 2000.
